Blast Barriers

This normally looks like any other school in Iraq, but in preparation for the upcoming vote on Oct. 15th, blast barriers have been put in place to protect the school from an IED attack. Wonder what the 7 year olds who go to school here think about their new fortress. A sign of democracy or a symbol of the fact that the citizens of Iraq are still paying a very heavy price for that democracy?
